Historical building with loggia and garden

Located in Dolcedo's historic center, next to the famous Maltese Bridge on the south-west side of the river Prino, this 400-year-old building is just a few steps away from restaurants, cafés and shops. During its restoration in 2006, the ancient architectural elements such as the marvelous crossvaulted ceilings and frescoes have been preserved. Its glazed loggia offers beautiful views of the river, the old town and the Baroque church of Dolcedo.

The building disposes of a living space of approx. 140 sqm on four levels. The entrance on the ground floor, located next to a small square with parking places, leads into the hall and from there to the right into the large kitchen with pantry. In winter, the kitchen is heated by a romantic fireplace, its brick vaulted ceiling and a natural stone wall have been skillfully staged. Next to it, there is a spacious living room with a magnificent cross-vaulted ceiling, pellet stove and sunny balcony overlooking the river and the old town. The living room is the heart of the flat, from here a large bedroom with a unique frescoed ceiling, a dressing room and the spacious bathroom with shower branch off.

A staircase leads to the first floor, offering another room with a view, which can be used as a studio or single bedroom. On the floor above the stairs lead into the glazed loggia, whose high ceiling and old columns are testimonies of ancient times. In summer you can open the large windows and enjoy the views onto the river and valley. The loggia has a glass-bottomed gallery, which was used as a library. It is possible to open the loggia again and to use it as a further outdoor setting.

The property also includes a cellar / storage room of about 60 sqm, which is located on the ground floor, offering a parking possibility for a motorbike. Small cars (Ape) and motorcycles can enter from the river lane. In front of the cellar, which is accessible from the river side, lies the little garden of approx. 50 sqm with a lemon and cherry tree, leading down to the river.

The ancient house is located in the heart of the old town on the right side of the river, close to the medieval Maltese bridge. The village center with all its amenities is nearby, public parking and a bus stop are just in front of the door.

The picturesque village of Dolcedo is situated some 7 km away from the sea and the lively coastal town Imperia. The Prino Valley invites to be explored on foot or bike along the many hiking routes meandering through beautiful woodland and olive groves. A number of close bathing pools dotted along the river are perfect spots to enjoy a refreshing dip. The ponds in the woods of Lecchiore can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes. Airports Genoa and Nice: about 100 km away.
